World Woman Foundation is delighted to announce Fatma Al-Nuaimi, Communications Executive Director, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Qatar, as the World Woman honoree for 2023 during World Economic Forum week in the category of civic leadership.  The award ceremony was held at Hard Rock International in Davos on Jan 19, 2023.

As the nation of Qatar seeks to evolve beyond its roots, women like Fatma Al-Nuaimi redefined the role of women. Fatma has held several high posts on the government committee hosting the FIFA World Cup. She also has played key roles in programs to develop young Qatari talent and support digital entrepreneurs. Fatma stands out as a woman in a society that has long been a man’s world — a woman now primed to lead the way into the future. World Woman Hero Fatma Al-Nuaimi is leading the new era of change in the Middle East.

Helen Clark, the esteemed former Prime Minister of New Zealand, earned the prestigious title of World Woman Hero honoree in recognition of her remarkable leadership that has played a pivotal role in guiding her nation. Her tenure as Prime Minister was marked by a steadfast commitment to social progress, environmental sustainability, and global diplomacy, making her a prominent figure in the international political arena. Clark’s enduring dedication to public service and her unwavering pursuit of a better world have solidified her as a true hero for women and society.

The World Woman Honoree in the category of media and corporate leadership included Ghada Owais, Lebanese broadcast journalist Al-Jazeera;  Federica Marchionni, CEO of Global Fashion Agenda; Nicola Mendelsohn, VP of Global Business Group, Meta and Geralyn Ritter EVP, External Affairs & ESG, Organon.

Global leaders from 30+ countries and 450 delegates attended the conference and World Woman Hero Awards during the World Economic Forum Week in the heart of Davos to launch a bold new gender equality agenda for women and girls.
